Leader & Advocate

A Voice for Conservation in Ag Retail

The second of three Core Pillars, Leader & Advocate illustrates that ACWA members are united to promote conservation on agricultural lands while helping farmers to remain profitable in their management practices.

Leadership Voice: ACWA represents more than just its members. ACWA speaks to Iowa farmers and landowners as well as to state and national agencies and leaders in agriculture and conservation. We hear their concerns, and understand their values and beliefs to positively impact soil health and water quality.

Cooperative Sustainability: Since ACWA is a valued and trusted science-driven resource, member experts and staff are asked to speak at meetings and functions to advance and promote nutrient reduction efforts. Conservation Agronomists are employed with ACWA members and associate members to serve as a trusted resource for farmers and landowners in environmental improvement.

Leader in Advancing Agriculture Solutions: ACWA’s experiences in obtaining third party funding allows us to be successful in receiving grant projects from Iowa’s Water Quality Initiative (WQI) program through the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS), federal Regional Conservation Partnership Projects (RCPP), the Walton Family Foundation and more. It’s this kind of track record that demonstrates ACWA as a unifying leader in water quality and agricultural conservation across Iowa.
